The Arcadia Police Department recently learned of unusually high concerns about traffic safety from our residents around Arcadia High School and Dana Middle School during drop-off and pick-up times. The concerns range from double parking, speeding violations, and students running into traffic. As we do whenever we receive heightened complaints, school and City officials met and have come up with a plan to increase patrols around our schools during high traffic times to enforce traffic laws and provide education for drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists.
Additionally, we are working on a presentation for students and
parents that we can offer at various locations to encourage
traffic safety awareness around our schools
to ensure the safety of all.
