In celebration of the Breeders’ Cup return to the City of Arcadia, Arcadia Transit is offering a variety of free transportation options on November 3 and 4, 2023, including free fare days on the fixed routes and dial-a-ride service to take residents and guests anywhere around town, and free local hotel and Arcadia Metro Station shuttle services to take patrons to and from Santa Anita Park. Free Fares on Arcadia Transit Fixed-Routes and Dial-A-Ride Service On November 3 and 4, all residents and visitors can ride for free on any of the three fixed-route bus lines. The Arcadia Transit Fixed-Route provides general public transit service on three bus lines - Green, Blue, and Red, with stops at important locations around town including the Arcadia Metro Station, Santa Anita Park, the Shops at Santa Anita Mall, the Los Angeles County Arboretum, and more! For a map of the routes, please go to ArcadiaCA.gov/Transit. In addition, Dial-A-Ride eligible passengers may ride for free during these days. Pre-registration for Dial-A-Ride services is required which includes requirements such as City of Arcadia residency and senior or disability status. Free Shuttle Services for Local Hotels and Arcadia Metro Station Guests staying at local hotels for the Breeders’ Cup and visitors taking the Metro A Line arriving at the Arcadia Metro Station can also take advantage of free shuttle services during the event. Arcadia Transit hotel shuttle service will provide roundtrip transportation from designated local hotels to Santa Anita Park, and the direct Metro Shuttle service will take passengers to and from the Arcadia Metro Station and Santa Anita Park. During service hours on November 3 and 4, both shuttle services will run approximately every 15-20 minutes. For a list of the local hotels on the shuttle route, visit ArcadiaCA.gov/Transit. Assistant City Manager/Development Services Director, Jason Kruckeberg, thinks these mobility options will encourage residents and visitors to take advantage of the services by exploring the City and Santa Anita Park, stating “the City of Arcadia always looks forward to the Breeders’ Cup; it is a world class event that shines a spotlight on the City. These free transportation options will go a long way toward making the event, and the City, accessible for all.” For more information on all the free transportation options being offered, please visit ArcadiaCA.gov/Transit.
