Gold Line closing parts of Myrtle Avenue segment

Myrtle Avenue in Monrovia between Duarte Road and Ralroad Avenue will be closed for more than a month starting Wednesday, Nov. 7 – Friday, Dec. 14 for construction on the Gold Line railroad. Northbound lanes will be closed 24-hours per day and the entire road will be closed during daytime work hours from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Crews will be working on Myrtle Ave near the railroad crossing to remove water utilities and existing railroad track as part of ongoing pre-construction activities for the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension from Pasadena to Azusa.

Traffic delays are expected on northbound and southbound Myrtle Avenue. Detour signs will be posted to direct vehicular traffic during the implementation of the full closures (see map). Pedestrians and bicyclists will be detoured around the work zone. Temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted to indicate street parking restrictions.
