Methodist Hospital is bringing free health seminars to the community each month on the hospital campus unless otherwise noted. The April schedule is:
Maternity Orientation and Tour The maternity orientation and tour will acquaint expectant parents who plan to deliver at Methodist Hospital with services and staff. It will provide information needed to prepare for delivery at Methodist Hospital. Moms and dads should plan to attend early in the pregnancy and should not bring other children to the session. Tours are given 3 – 4:45 p.m. and 6:45 – 8:30 p.m. on the second Wednesdays of each month at Methodist Hospital’s Lewis Hall. Tours will also be given on fourth Wednesdays 6:45 – 8:30 p.m. Registration is not necessary, but for more information, call 1-800-950-BABY.
Diabetes Education Series A four-week series of diabetes education classes is offered the first four Tuesdays of every month 4:30-6:30 p.m., in Classroom 3. For more information or to register, please call 626-821-2344.
Chronic Illness Support Group This group meets every Thursday 7 – 8:30 p.m. in Classroom 3. To register, call Hugh at Santa Anita Family Services, 626-359-9358, ext. 38.
Mended Heart Support Group This group meets 2 – 4 p.m. the third Wednesday of every other month in Classroom 4. (January, March, May, July, September and November). For more information and to subscribe to the Mended Heart newsletter, please call Colleen Wilber, 626-898-8000.
Blood Pressure Screenings These free screenings are offered the second Tuesday of every month at the following locations. The registered nurses also provide one-on-one health counseling and help with medications.
