Fire Department Weekly Report - week of August 9 - 15, 2026

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the

week of August 9 - 15, 2026. The following is a breakdown of incident categories

recorded for this period:

Sunday, August 9

At 5:36 p.m., Engine 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to a

medical incident in the 1200 block of South First Avenue. Fire personnel found a 90-

year-old male patient with an altered level of consciousness. A full medical evaluation

was performed, including vitals, twelve-lead electrocardiogram, oxygen and IV

therapies. The patient was transported by Rescue Ambulance 105 to USC Arcadia

Hospital for further evaluation.

Monday, August 10

At 2:43 p.m., Engine 107 responded to a report of a big rig truck with fuel leaking on

the 201 Freeway. Upon arrival, fire

personnel found the vehicle leaking

diesel fuel from a damaged fuel tank

onto the roadway and into a storm

drain. Engine 107 crew worked with the

California Highway Patrol (CHP) and

Caltrans to divert, contain, and dispose

of the fuel. All appropriate notifications

were made according to applicable

standards including California Office of

Emergency Services (OES), Los Angeles County Flood Control, Los Angeles County Health Haz-mat, and California Department of Fish and Game.

Tuesday, August 11

At 3:36 p.m., Engine 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to the 200

block of Santa Clara Street for a person reported down. Firefighters arrived to find a

58-year-old female with a chief complaint of altered level of consciousness.

Paramedics arrived and initiated advanced life support protocols including, twelve-

lead electrocardiogram, blood glucose testing, intravenous access, and transport to

USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.

Wednesday, August 12

At 9:23 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to the 1300 block of

South Fifth Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find a domestic dispute where a 35-year-

old female was physically assaulted. Paramedics arrived, treated, and evaluated the

patient under basic life support protocols. Thie patient was released to Arcadia Police

Department on scene.

Thursday, August 13

At 8:05 a.m., Engine 705, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to a

medical incident in the 1600 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Fire personnel found a

66-year-old female with a chief complaint of difficulty breathing with sepsis. A fullmedical evaluation was performed, including vital signs, twelve-lead

electrocardiogram, oxygen, and IV therapies. The patient was transported by Rescue

Ambulance 105 to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.

Friday, August 14

At 1:05 p.m., Engine 705 and Engine 107 responded

to a vehicle fire on the 210 Freeway. Upon arrival,

units found a Ford SUV involved with fire. All

passengers were safely out of the vehicle. Units on

scene deployed hose lines to extinguish the fire

and successfully prevented the fire from spreading

to the adjacent vegetation. The cause of the fire

was attributed to mechanical failure in the engine

compartment. The scene was released to the

California Highway Patrol (CHP) to assist with

towing arrangements for the vehicle.

Saturday, August 15

At 12:15 p.m., Engine 705, Engine 102, Truck 105, Battalion 105, HAZMAT 24, Air Utility

39, Battalion 3, and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a report of a hazardous

material incident at a commercial building in the 100 block of East Live Oak Avenue.

Upon arrival, fire personnel established command, donned appropriate personal

protective equipment (PPE), set up an exclusion zone, and made entry to identify the

material. The material was identified as a small amount of mercury that was

contained within a child’s toy and was removed from the structure. There were no

victims exposed to the mercury. Crews worked with Los Angeles County Health

HAZMAN to properly dispose of the mercury, and the business resumed normal

operation.
