Fire Department Weekly Report - August 2 - 8, 2026

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of August 2 - 8, 2026. The following is a breakdown of incident categories

recorded for this period:

Sunday, August 2

At 4:18 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a

medical incident in the 1600 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Fire personnel found a

68-year-old male with a chief complaint of stroke-like symptoms. A full medical

evaluation was performed, including vitals, twelve-lead electrocardiogram, oxygen

and IV therapies. The patient was transported by Rescue Ambulance 106 to USC

Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.

Monday, August 3

At 3:08 p.m., Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 105,

Battalion 105, and units from Los Angeles County Fire

Department responded to a report of a residential

structure fire in the 9000 block of Duarte Road. Upon

arrival, Los Angeles County Fire reported a working

structure fire with pressurized smoke and fire located

in the basement. Truck 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105

were assigned as the Rapid Intervention Crew for the

incident. Fire crews successfully contained the fire to

the room of origin, the cause of the fire is under

investigation.

Tuesday, August 4

At 3:16 p.m., Engine 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to a

medical incident at the intersection of Santa Clara Street and North First Avenue. Fire

personnel found a 65-year-old female with a chief complaint of difficulty breathing.

A full medical evaluation was performed, including vital signs, twelve-lead

electrocardiogram, oxygen and IV therapies. The patient was transported by Rescue

Ambulance 105 to USC Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.

Wednesday, August 5

At 12:06 p.m., Engine 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to a

medical incident in the 400 block of Ilene Drive. Fire personnel found an 87-year-old

male with a chief complaint of stroke-like symptoms. A full medical evaluation was

performed, including vitals, twelve-lead electrocardiogram, oxygen and IV therapies.

The patient was transported by Rescue Ambulance 105 to Arcadia Hospital for

further evaluation.

Thursday, August 6

At 12:18 p.m., Engine 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, and BLS 106 responded to a

medical incident near the 400 block of Santa Clara Street. Upon arrival, Engine 105

and Rescue Ambulance 105 found a 77-year-old male with a complaint of a syncopal

episode. Fire personnel performed a full medical evaluation which included a twelve-

lead electrocardiogram, established intravenous access, and obtained a complete set

of vital signs. The patient was found to be hypotensive, and paramedics administered

normal saline intravenously. Rescue Ambulance 105 transported the patient to USC

Arcadia Hospital for further evaluation.

Friday, August 7

At 12:30 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and BLS 106 responded to a

medical incident near the 600 block of South Sunset Boulevard. Upon arrival, Engine

106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 found a 91-year-old female with a complaint of

general weakness. Paramedics performed a thorough patient assessment, checked

the patient’s blood sugar, and obtained base line vital signs. Paramedics found the

patient’s blood sugar to be extremely elevated causing the associated symptoms.

Fire personnel obtained a twelve-lead electrocardiogram, established intravenous

access, and administered a fluid challenge. After receiving the intravenous fluids, the

patient was transported to USC Arcadia Hospital for further treatment.

Saturday, August 8

At 1:33 a.m., Engine 106, Engine 107, Engine 32,

Engine 37, Truck 32, Truck 101, Rescue

Ambulance 106, Battalion 9, and Battalion 105

responded to a reported house fire near the

1100 block of Monte Verde Drive. Upon arrival,

Engine 37 reported smoke showing from a

single-story structure. Engine 37 personnel-

initiated fire attack and pulled a 1.75” attack

line to the rear of the structure. Engine 106

personnel assisted Engine 37 with water supply

and pulling an additional hose line. Battalion

105 arrived on scene and established

command of the incident. The Arcadia Police

Department responded and provided traffic

control for fire crews. Truck 32 was assigned to

ventilation group and to coordinate operations

with interior fire crews. Engine 32 was assigned

to fire attack due to the conditions inside and needing additional personnel. Truck

105 was assigned to rapid intervention crew operations and to secure the utilities to

the structure. Rescue Ambulance 106 was assigned to medical group to assist with

any support functions. Once the fire was knocked down, investigators worked to

determine the cause and origin of the fire. Crews remained on scene to complete

overhaul operations and identify any remaining hot spots. The structure was

evaluated by the Building Department and deemed unsafe for occupants. The cause

of the fire is still under investigation.
