Tuesday’s election narrowed down the list of candidates who will represent Arcadia on the state and federal level beginning in January 2013, all of whom will be new to Arcadia representation, but several of whom have connections to the city:
State Assembly District 49:
Matthew Lin, Republican, 17,602 votes (51.9%)
Edwin “Ed” Chau, Democat, 11,916 votes (35.1%)
State Senate District 25:
Carol Liu, Democrat, 54,647 votes (51.4%)
Gilbert V. Gonzales, Republican, 45,974 votes (43.2%) — works at Vons headquarters in Arcadia
U.S. Congress District 27:
Judy Chu, Democrat, 43,257 votes (57.7%) — spoke at Arcadia Chamber/Chinese Association Asian Business Night last fall — reps live or have relatives who live in Arcadia
Jack Orswell, Republican, 18,016 votes (24.0%) — lives in Arcadia
