Disney exec’s national honor

Jill Stewart Sanford, a 1996 graduate of Arcadia High School and Disney Channel network executive in charge of popular series “Phineas and Ferb” has been named one of the top 40 TV executives in the country under 40-years-old by the TV and cable industry’s bible, national trade magazine Multichannel News.

Sanford, the director of original series for Disney Channel Animation, is the daughter of longtime Arcadia residents Larry and Norma Stewart. Larry Stewart, a former Los Angeles Times sportswriter, is a blogger for ArcadiasBest.com and contributing reporter for The Patch. Norma Stewart is a special eduction teacher at Camino Grove Elementary School who is retiring in June.

At Arcadia High, Jill was a member of the We the People Constitution team, worked as a director and news anchor for Apache News and was on the band’s flag drill team. She graduated from UCLA in 2000 and has been with the Disney Channel since 2003. Jill married Courtney Sanford, also a Disney TV executive, in 2007.
