Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report -Sunday, August 9th through Saturday, August 15th

For the period of Sunday, August 9th through Saturday, August 15th, the Police Department responded to 1,035 calls for service, of which 87 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled

by the Department during this period.


Sunday, August 9:

At approximately 10:59 a.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia

Police Department regarding a fraud report. The victim discovered someone used

his personal information to open a fraudulent credit card sometime between January

and July. The victim does not know how the suspect obtained their personal

information or the identity of the suspect.


Monday, August 10:

At approximately 1:01 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of

West Arthur Avenue regarding a package theft report. Between July 15th and August

4th, someone stole a package from the victim’s porch.


Tuesday, August 11:

At approximately 6:44 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of California Street regarding a recovered stolen vehicle report. An investigation

revealed the victim’s friend stole her vehicle on August 10th . The suspect, a 31-year-

old male from San Gabriel, is outstanding and the case is ongoing. The vehicle was

located by the victim and returned to the registered owner.


Wednesday, August 12:

At approximately 9:04 a.m., an officer responded to the 11900 block of Clark Street

regarding a commercial burglary report. The officer discovered someone had

removed sheets of plywood to access the vacant building and once inside, they

removed electrical panels and fled with stolen property. The crime happened

between July 24th and August 12th

.

Thursday, August 13:

At approximately 1:43 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of

West Lemon Avenue regarding a fraud report. An investigation revealed the victim

was scammed out of $450,000.00 by false pretenses for years. The investigation is

ongoing, but the suspect has been identified as a 40-year-old male from Arcadia.


Friday, August 14:

At approximately 4:57 p.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, located at 125

North First Avenue, regarding a theft from vehicle report. The officer discovered

someone had entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and fled with two wallets.


Saturday, August 15:

At approximately 6:18 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Okoboji Drive

and Sunset Boulevard regarding a robbery report. An investigation revealed the

victim arranged to meet the suspect in an attempt to sell $13,000 worth of tradingcards, and when the two met, the suspect brandished a firearm and robbed the

victim. The suspect fled in a silver SUV. The investigation is ongoing.
