Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, August 30th through Saturday, September 5th

For the period of Sunday, August 30th through Saturday, September 5th, the Police Department responded to 1,020 calls for service, of which 119 required formal
investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, August 30:
At approximately 1:13 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1400 block of
South Santa Anita Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officer discovered
that sometime between August 27th and 30th, someone broke into a lock box, used
the key to enter the home, and fled with clothing. It appears as though the suspect
used the utilities while inside the home.
Monday, August 31:
At approximately 2:19 p.m., an officer responded to a parking lot in the 600 block of
West Duarte Road regarding a theft from vehicle report. The officer determined that
someone entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole cash. The suspect is
believed to be a female with dark hair. The investigation is ongoing.
Tuesday, September 1:
At approximately 8:03 a.m., an officer responded to 7-Eleven, located at 102 East
Huntington Drive, regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed the suspect
pushed the employee when the employee attempted to confront the suspect for
stealing. The suspect was located nearby. The 48-year-old male transient from Los
Angeles was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records
check revealed he had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
Wednesday, September 2:
At approximately 12:54 p.m., an officer responded the intersection of Colorado Place
and San Juan Road regarding a vehicle blocking traffic. Upon contacting the driver,
the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol. Through a series of tests, the officer
concluded the suspect was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The
32-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail
for booking.
Thursday, September 3:
At approximately 7:29 p.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia
Police Department regarding an extortion report. The victim stated the suspect
threatened to release AI-generated sexual content of the victim if he did not pay a
ransom. The investigation is ongoing.
Friday, September 4:
At approximately 5:47 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2300 block of
Lenta Lane regarding a burglary investigation. The officer discovered the victim
returned to his home and interrupted a burglary in progress. The two suspects fled and
stole 2 bicycles. The suspects are both described as elderly males.Saturday, September 5:
At approximately 10:48 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of
East Sandra Avenue regarding a fraud report. An investigation revealed an
unidentified suspect, operating under the guise of a Spectrum employee, convinced
the victim into shipping two phones, which the suspect subsequently stole.
