Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, August 2nd through Saturday, August 8th

For the period of Sunday, August 2nd through Saturday, August 8th, the Police Department responded to 991 calls for service, of which 102 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, August 2:
At approximately 10:38 a.m., an officer responded to the area of 00 El Dorado Street
regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime between 8:37 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.,
someone stole the keys from a nearby mailbox and fled with the victim’s BMW X5.
The investigation is pending a review of surveillance footage.
Monday, August 3:
At approximately 1:37 a.m., an officer responded to the 12300 block of Lower Azusa
Road regarding a hit and run traffic collision. The driver, a 23-year-old male from
Temple City, attempted to evade questioning by hiding in the bushes. Officers
determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol when the accident
occurred. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Tuesday, August 4:
At approximately 7:06 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of
West Naomi Avenue regarding a fraud report. The victim discovered someone used
her EBT card without her permission, resulting in a loss of $6,200.00.
Wednesday, August 5:
At approximately 11:23 a.m., an officer responded to Abercrombie & Fitch, located at
400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a petty theft report. An investigation revealed
a 44-year-old female from Alhambra removed the sensors and stole approximately
$450.00 worth of clothing. The suspect initially provided her mother’s name so the
officer would not discover she had past convictions for theft. She was arrested and
transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Thursday, August 6:
At approximately 1:33 p.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of East Duarte Road
regarding a vandalism report. The officer discovered a male transient vandalized a
private bathroom and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. A records check
revealed the 34-year-old male also had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. He
was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Friday, August 7:
At approximately 2:54 p.m., an officer responded to an apartment complex in the 600
block of West Huntington Drive regarding a mail theft report. A review of the
surveillance footage revealed two suspects used a mail key to open the community
mailboxes and fled with stolen mail and packages. The suspects are described as a
Hispanic male and an Asian male, both 30 to 35-years-old. The investigation is ongoing.
Saturday, August 8:
At approximately 12:57 a.m., an officer responded to Knockouts, located at 1580
Clark Street, regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed a female dancer
punched the victim in the face after he made vulgar comments toward her. The
suspect is a 24-year-old female from Panorama and the investigation is ongoing.
