Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, April 19th through Saturday, April 25th

For the period of Sunday, April 19th through Saturday, April 25th, the Policer Department responded to 993 calls for service, of which 136 required formal

investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled

by the Department during this period.



Sunday, April 19:

At approximately 12:09 p.m., an officer responded to JCPenney, located at 400 South

Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft investigation. Loss prevention staff witnessed a

team of four suspects working in concert to steal property from the store. One of the

suspects has been identified as a 37-year-old male from Los Angeles.


Monday, April 20:

At approximately 3:55 p.m., officers responded to the area of West Live Oak Avenue

and Welland Avenue regarding a suspicious male displaying a handgun. Upon

locating the suspect, the 27-year-old male from Wildomar became combative, he spit

on the officers, and resisted arrest. A records check also revealed he had an

outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia

City Jail for booking.


Tuesday, April 21:

At approximately 10:55 p.m., an officer responded to Chevron gas station, located at

500 South Santa Anita Avenue, regarding a robbery investigation. The officer

determined the suspect stole a pair of sunglasses and when he was confronted by

the clerk, the suspect pepper sprayed the employee. The suspect has been identified

as a 43-year-old male transient from Pasadena.


Wednesday, April 22:

At approximately 5:11 p.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of Fano Street

regarding a vehicle burglary report. A concerned citizen reported that someone had

shattered one of the windows to a Jeep, opened the glove box, and ransacked the

inside of the vehicle. The loss is unknown.


Thursday, April 23:

At approximately 11:23 p.m., an officer responded to a residence under construction

in the 00 block of West Longden Avenue regarding a burglary investigation.

Sometime between April 21st and 23rd, someone entered the construction site and

stole copper wiring and pipe.


Friday, April 24:

At approximately 4:05 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of

West Longden Avenue regarding a fraud report. The victim discovered someone used

her identity to open a bank account and accumulate over $15,000 worth of debt. The

victim became aware of the fraud when her bank notified her of a drop in her credit

score.


Saturday, April 25:

At approximately 5:00 p.m., an officer responded to Santa Anita Park, located at 285

West Huntington Drive, regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime between 10:00

a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on April 25th, someone stole the victim’s 2015 BMW sedan.
