626 Night Market in Arcadia

The popular 626 Night Market will make its debut at Santa Anita Park and the first-ever two-day event on Oct. 20-21.

The third event this year, the largest Asian night market in America aimed at all ages and featuring Asian street foods, local businesses, live DJs, dance floor, performance artists and games, will be staged on the infield of Santa Anita Park during the horse race tracks’s Autumn Meet from 3 p.m. – 2 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, and 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21.

Admission is free, though there will be a charge for parking in the north lot at Gate 6 off of Colorado Place, the same one as was used for the California Philharmonic’s Festival on the Green concerts this last summer. That lot has a capacity for 10,000 vehicles. While the summer concerts drew several thousand attendees, peaking at nearly 5,000 on the final night, 626 Night Market attracted about 40,000 people to the last event in Pasadena in July. Officials estimate even larger crowds spread over the two days at Santa Anita. Another 626 Night Market is already being tentatively planned for December at Santa Anita.

“We are very excited to be hosting this event and we look forward to welcoming an entirely new group of folks to Santa Anita,” said Mark Verge, Santa Anita CEO. “The 626 Night Market team realizes we’re a perfect venue for them and we are honored to be in a position to welcome and accommodate them. This is a great opportunity for all of us and we are going to do everything we need to do to ensure that those who come here will have a great experience.”

“The 626 Night Market team is working closely with the City of Arcadia and Santa Anita Park to make the two-night cultural experience smooth and enjoyable for our patrons,” said Jonny Hwang, 626 Night Market organizer. “The 626 Night Market is currently accepting vendor applications and is proud to be a community platform for many first-time local entrepreneurs who are pursuing their dream of running a business.”
