Forest Lawn opens in Arcadia

A ribbon-cutting Friday, March 28, preceded the official grand opening of the elegant new offices of the first Forest Lawn branch in Arcadia at 11 E. Huntington Drive. A large contingent of media was on hand to enjoy tours of the beautiful facility where attendees could see videos and photos and enjoy light refreshments, music, a special surprise Lion Dance ceremony, and gift bags for VIPs. <Story continues below the following video highlights…>

In his comments of congratulations and welcome, Chamber CEO Scott Hettrick said the famous Forest Lawn brand was yet another world-famous asset in Arcadia and represented another important component added to the growing Downtown Arcadia district. He thanked Forest Lawn for support of the Arcadia’s Best Foundation Christmas Market last December and also pointed to Richard Zook and noted appreciation of Forest Lawn’s support and partnership with the locally popular Zook mortuary service.

Among others making welcoming speeches and presentations to Forest Lawn President and CEO Darin Drabing were Mayor Pro Tem John Wuo along with City Council Member Bob Harbicht; Viola Van representing U.S. Congresswoman Judy Chu; Tommy from Assemblymember Ed Chau’s office; and Brian Mejia representing L.A. County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

Among the many Forest Lawn executives were Thomas Mok and Francine Chu.
