Fire Department Weekly Report - week of June 7 - 13, 2026

The Arcadia Fire Department responded to a variety of emergency calls during the

week of June 7 - 13, 2026. The following is a breakdown of incident categories

recorded for this period:

Sunday, June 7

At 3:46 p.m., Engine 106, Rescue Ambulance 106, and Engine 37 responded to a

reported traffic collision on the Eastbound 210 Freeway, east of Michillinda Avenue.

Firefighters arrived to find a semi-truck with a small passenger car underneath it.

They evaluated all parties involved and found one patient, the 23-year-old male

driver of the small passenger car. This patient was transported under advanced life

support protocols to Huntington Hospital Trauma Center with severe head and torso

trauma.

Monday, June 8

At 12:45 p.m., Engine 106 responded to an outdoor fire near 900 block of Fairview

Avenue. Upon arrival, Engine 106 was directed by a

roofing company onsite to a hot asphalt kettle involved with fire. Engine 106 personnel utilized a dry chemical extinguisher and deployed a hose line to protect the carport from direct flame impingement. Engine 105 responded to the

incident for additional personnel and equipment.

The fire was extinguished and crews monitored the asphalt kettle temperature with the thermal imaging camera. Arcadia police officers assisted with crowd control and notifying nearby residents of the incident. Building officials were on site

monitoring the incident and assessed the carport for damage. The fire was confined to the asphalt kettle, and the carport did not sustain any damage.

Tuesday, June 9

At 2:35 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical incident

near the 200 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, Rescue Ambulance 106

found a 71-year-old male exhibiting stroke symptoms. Paramedics performed a

series of stroke tests on the patient and identified the patient was experiencing a

stroke. Fire personnel obtained a 12-lead electrocardiogram, blood glucose check,

established intravenous access, and transported the patient to USC Arcadia Hospital

Comprehensive Stroke Center by Rescue Ambulance 106.

Wednesday, June 10

At 1:31 a.m., Engine 105 responded to the 100 block of West Huntington Drive for a

reported refuse fire. Firefighters arrived to find a refuse fire extending into the

structure and trees in the area. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire with a singlehose line. Arson investigators were notified and the cause of this fire remains under

investigation.

Thursday, June 11

At 10:46 a.m., Engine 105, Engine 107,

Battalion 105, and units from

Monrovia Fire responded to a

vegetation fire in the 800 block of

Bonita Street. Upon arrival, firefighters

found a 50 feet by 50 feet section of

brush and a homeless encampment

engulfed in flames, threatening an

adjacent business. The units managed

to prevent any structural damage and

successfully extinguished the fire. The

cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Friday, June 12

At 4:29 p.m., Engine 106 responded to the intersection of South Baldwin Avenue and

Camino Real Avenue for a reported refuse fire. Firefighters arrived to find a large

dumpster well involved in fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished this fire with a single

hose line. Arson investigators were notified and the cause of this fire remains under

investigation.

Saturday, June 13

At 6:35 p.m., Engine 101, Engine 107, Truck 101, Truck 105, RA 105, and Battalion 105

responded into Monrovia for a reported structure fire near the 200 block of Poppy

Avenue. Upon arrival, Engine 101 arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke from

a single-story residential structure. Engine 107 assisted with pulling an additional

hose line to assist with fire attack. Battalion 105 arrived on scene and established

command of the incident. Truck 101 was assigned to ventilation group and

coordinated their efforts with fire attack. All occupants evacuated the house prior to

fire department arrival, and one patient was assessed and treated at the scene. The

fire was extinguished at approximately 25 minutes after first arriving crews were on

scene. Crews utilized foam to extinguish any hot spots remaining after overhaul. The

fire was confined to the room of origin, and the cause is under investigation.
