Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, June 14th through Saturday, June 20th

For the period of Sunday, June 14th through Saturday, June 20th, the Police Department responded to 967 calls for service, of which 116 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Sunday, June 14:
At approximately 9:30 a.m., an officer responded to SpringHill Suites by Marriott,
located at 99 North Second Avenue, regarding a battery investigation. The officer
discovered a male suspect battered a female acquaintance for no apparent reason.
A records check revealed the 34-year-old male from West Covina was on parole. He
was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Monday, June 15
At approximately 11:43 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2200 block
of South Santa Anita Avenue regarding a forgery report. The victim stated someone
unlawfully obtained a check intended for the victim, changed the payee, and cashed
the check.
Tuesday, June 16:
At approximately 12:15 p.m., an officer responded to the CVS parking lot, located at
1401 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a vehicle burglary report. Sometime between
12:00 p.m. and 12:15 p.m., someone smashed one of the windows and stole cash
from inside the center console.
Wednesday, June 17:
At approximately 5:23 p.m., an officer responded to The Shops at Santa Anita, located
at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a robbery report. An investigation revealed
a team of five suspects worked in concert to steal a gold chain from the victim. The
suspects were located nearby while attempting to flee. A 19-year-old Asian male from
Tustin, an 18-year-old Hispanic male from San Gabriel, an 18-year-old Black male
from Carson, an 18-year-old Hispanic male from Carson, and a 17-year-old Asian
male from Rosemead were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for
booking.
Thursday, June 18:
At approximately 9:32 a.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia
Police Department regarding a fraud report. The victim stated he lent the suspect
money, a 44-year-old Asian female from Arcadia, and when she went to repay the
loan, she knowingly issued checks on an overdrawn account. The investigation is
ongoing.
Friday, June 19:
At approximately 9:03 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of West
Rodell Place, regarding a fraud report. An investigation revealed the victim believed she
was investing in a Taiwan-based airline. When she attempted to withdraw her
investment, she discovered she was a victim of a scam.
Saturday, June 20:
At approximately 1:39 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of
West Santa Anita Terrace regarding a burglary investigation. The officer discovered
that sometime between June 13th and 20th, an unidentified suspect pried open a
sliding glass door, ransacked the home, and fled with miscellaneous property.
