Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report - Sunday, August 16th through Saturday, August 22nd

For the period of Sunday, August 16th through Saturday, August 22nd, the Police Department responded to 1,067 calls for service, of which 114 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of some of the incidents handled

by the Department during this period.

Sunday, August 16:

At approximately 1:33 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle in the area

of Live Oak Avenue and Santa Anita Avenue for lane straddling. Upon contacting the

driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from inside the vehicle.

Through a series of tests, the officer determined the suspect was likely driving under

the influence of alcohol. The 54-year-old male from Monterey Park was arrested and

transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Monday, August 17:

At approximately 10:12 a.m., an officer responded to Hey Den, located at 1304 South

Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. Upon reviewing the

surveillance footage, the officer determined four suspects worked in concert to steal

multiple bottles of alcohol. The suspects are described as three Hispanic males and

one additional male. The investigation is ongoing.

Tuesday, August 18:

At approximately 12:28 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Baldwin

Avenue and Foothill Boulevard regarding a vehicle swerving. The suspect refused to

pull over for the officer and a brief pursuit ensued. The suspect was ultimately taken

into custody and displayed signs of drug use. The 33-year-old male from Hacienda

Heights was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Wednesday, August 19:

At approximately 11:07 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1600 block

of Lovell Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. Surveillance cameras captured a

lone male suspect shatter a rear glass door and burglarize the home. The loss is

unknown.

Thursday, August 20:

At approximately 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the 11600 block of Clark Street

regarding a male suspect exposing himself. The officers located the suspect nearby

and determined there have been multiple incidents involving the same suspect. The

70-year-old male from San Gabriel was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City

Jail for booking.

Friday, August 21:

At approximately 6:37 p.m., an officer responded to the front counter of the Arcadia

Police Department regarding a battery report. The victim stated the suspect

approached her without provocation and battered her. The suspect is described as an

Asian female, approximately 5’ 4” tall. The suspect fled on foot.

Saturday, August 22:

At approximately 10:48 a.m., an officer initiated contact with the driver of a vehicle

in the 1300 block of South Golden West Avenue for failure to display a front license

plate. Upon contacting the subject, the officer saw a can of nitrous oxide and a glass

pipe to smoke methamphetamine. The 34-year-old male from Bakersfield was

arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
