Anime Art Expo

Influenced by the latest craze in the animation entertainment industry — Japanese anime and manga — Montecito Fine Arts School is kicking off its first annual Anime Art Expo and will feature professional artist demonstrations and seminars, local exhibitors, Artist Alley, contests and prizes, and Cosplay Fashion Show.

Admission is free and open to the public.
Snacks, drinks and a free gift will be provided for attendees.
Location:
MFA School and MFA College of Design: 524 S First Ave., Arcadia (parking is at the Arcadia Presbyterian Church on 121 Alice St) and 121 E. Huntington Dr., Monrovia. There will be a free shuttle bus available to transport guests between the two campuses.

Montecito Fine Arts School Children’s Creative Development Center’s first ever anime event will be held on November 8 and 9, 2008 from 1 pm to 9 pm.

The Cosplay (short for “costume play”) Fashion Show is open to the general public, so guests are encouraged to show up to the event wearing their decorated anime-inspired outfits.
A photo studio will also be set up so that guests not donning a cosplay outfit may take pictures with their favorite cosplay stars of the night. Local artists and exhibitors are invited to participate in the Artist Alley and exhibitor section where artists and vendors will set up shop to display and sell their items.

Montecito Fine Arts is a student-centered, outcome-based, and success-orientated school with a highly dynamic learning environment that motivates and educates its students through a holistic, new school educational approach. Montecito Fine Arts School Children’s Creative Development Center offers classes to children ages 4 to 12 and allows them the opportunity to explore and cultivate their creative abilities.
