No doubt you've seen the construction work being done on multiple schools around town, the portable buildings, the chain link construction fences, and the Measure I banners.
While it may be an eyesore and inconvenience temporarily, it all means that the more than $200 million you voted to approve a couple years ago to upgrade the infrastructure of all the schools and make some improvements at selected locations is being put to visible work.
The Arcadia Unified School District is going to great lengths to keep Arcadians apprised of the progress, holding recent informational meetings about the status of projects being done at Dana Middle School, First Avenue Middle School, Highland Oaks Elementary, and Foothills Middle School. The next informational meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Holly Avenue Elementary School (click here for meeting details at the district's web site).
You will find a complete summary, construction timetable, photos, and design drawings of all the work to be done over the next five years if you click here at the district's web site, and you will find specific updated details of work at Holly Avenue Elementary, First Avenue Middle School, and Highland Oaks Elementary by clicking the images below...
