"Children are born learning, but not all children have the same advantages for early education or enrichment," explains Shirley Noda, director and owner of FasTracKids Arcadia. "At FasTracKids, weāre building on the natural curiosity of the youngest learners.
By hosting Jumpstartās Read for the Record, we can help raise public awareness about the early education gap that exists between income levels, and share our goals for enriching children with the knowledge to become creative thinkers, skilled leaders and resourceful problem solvers."
FasTracKidsā partnership with Jumpstartās Read for the Record campaign will help create the largest "shared reading experience" ever and challenge the record set on a single day in September 2007, when over 250,000 people read the same book across the country. FasTracKids invites readers of all ages to attend the event to read the campaignās official book, Corduroy. The dayās activities will begin at 3:00PM.
FasTracKids gives children the opportunity to explore ideas in an exciting environment that offers positive emotional support and fosters healthy social interaction between intellectual peers.
Children work at their own pace while using their own powers of observation, communication, and investigation. In just two hours a week, children aged three to eight learn through hands-on experiments, live report presentations, guided discussions and role-playing, an approach that guarantees interactive fun and a lively exchange of ideas. "By enriching their innate, personal drive to learn,
we can expand their horizons and nourish their lifelong love of learning," says Shirley Noda. "In this way, enrichment is a more organic approach than what is found in any other learning setting because it values learning for its own sake."
