Stars Athletic Foundation, a children's multi-sport center, is completing set-up at its new facility in Baldwin Park this week-end, Sept. 20/21 (off the 605 at 470 Cloverfield Dr.).

Being a non-profit organization, we can sign off on volunteer hours required by local high schools or other organizations, such as Scouts.

Great news!  We have a donated scissor lift for the weekend!  Now all we need are the painters and sprayers to go with it!

Thanks to Rene, one wall is already painted. The difference is amazing!

If you or anyone you know can patch drywall, we need that, too. Right now, we're just painting over the holes in the walls. It would be nice if we could patch first, then paint.

We can still use high school students, Scouts, etc. who need volunteer hours to cover equipment and mats, move flooring, and so on. Those of you with either expertise or derring do are needed to paint. If you cannot make it this weekend, but have a paint sprayer we could borrow, please put your name on it prominently and let us know when we can get it.

Since we only have the use of the lift over the weekend, I would like to get the entire top half of the gym painted (since we can reach the lower half with a ladder). That means long days, which means plenty of opportunity for everyone to join the fun! We can start as early as 7 A.M. on both days, and go until as late as 10 P.M. Please either e-mail or call in your (or your friends'/neighbors'/relatives'/students'/etc. availability, so we can coordinate our volunteers' activities. Also, if you cannot make it but have a paint sprayer we can borrow, please let me know by Friday, so we can get it before Saturday morning.

One more good news tidbit: the phones should actually be connected and working as of – TODAY (Wednesday, Sept. 17), thanks to James!
